The Kennett Area Senior Center invites you to an afternoon “Sunday Dinner with Friends” on Sunday, March 19, 2017…..1:00-3:00pm. Our themes are based on “dining across the United States” with this dinner being New York City. What comes to mind when you think “New York City?” What about “Broadway?” Well, we are hosting R.T.C.’s Rising Stars of Broadway. R.T.C. is known to West Chester residents as the Resident Theatre Company responsible for bringing the new music-based program “Broadway in the Borough” to West Chester. Attending our dinner will give you the taste of an excellent home cooked meal and a taste of “Broadway.” The cost for dining and entertainment is only $12/KASC members and $14/non-members. Everyone is welcome regardless of age. Reservations are needed – please call 610-444-4819 to reserve your seat a week in advance.
The Kennett Area Senior Center invites you to attend a discussion on Nutrition with Matt Jones, Registered Dietitian for the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, at the Senior Center on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 12:30-1:30pm. March is NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH. The public is welcome to attend. Please join Matt for “Put Your Best Fork Forward.”
The Kennett Area Senior Center opens its doors from 7:00-9:00am for the Walnut Street Café Community Breakfast on Monday, April 3, 2017. The “community” is invited to attend for one of the best breakfasts in town! You won’t be disappointed in the menu choices! This is a great way to start your day……KASC members: $5.75 – Non-members: $6.75. All Proceeds to Benefit KASC Senior Programs.
The Kennett Area Senior Center staff is hosting a “Welcome Reception” on Monday, April 3, 2017, 8:00-10:00am. Join us for breakfast from 8:00-9:00am at KASC’s Walnut Street Café Community Breakfast. Our ASP (Assisted Senior Program) invites Caregivers and their families along with their elderly loved ones to learn more about the Assisted Senior Program and new pricing structure. The ASP program is designed to be an affordable intermediary option prior to seniors requiring a higher level of care. Join us to learn more about this important program.
The Kennett Area Senior Center is pleased to present “Concussion & Seniors” by Michelle Epstein, MSW, LCSW, CBIS from Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital outreach program. Join us at KASC Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 12:30-1:30pm for this informative presentation. Concussions don’t just happen to athletes….learn what causes a concussion in older adults and the signs you have a concussion. Michelle has her Master’s degree in Social Work and is a licensed clinical social worker and certified brain injury specialist.
The Kennett Area Senior Center will be providing ServSafe® Manager Training and Certification course on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 8:30am – 5:00pm. Registration Fee: $180 per person. The Kennett Area Senior Center invites you to attend our popular monthly TEA PARTY, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 – 2:00-3:30pm. The theme is “Easter Parade.” Ladies are encouraged to wear their favorite Easter bonnet. Enjoy homemade tea sandwiches, desserts and fine teas, all prepared by our KASC Tea Committee.
