ORDINANCE NO. 135

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KENNETT CHANGING THE AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS ELECTED OR APPOINTED TO ASSUME OFFICE AFTER DECEMBER 17, 2001.

 

 

The following Ordinance is hereby adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Kennett Township:

 

            WHEREAS, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has enacted Act 60 of 1995 setting forth certain guidelines and limitations for the compensation of Supervisors of townships of the second class; and

 

            WHEREAS, the said Act provides that Supervisors of townships having a population of more than 5,000, but less than 9,999, shall be compensated in an amount not to exceed $2,500 per year; and

 

            WHEREAS, the population of Kennett Township is 6,451; and

 

            WHEREAS, the General Assembly by said Act 60 authorizes the Board of Supervisors of various townships of the second class to determine the compensation of Supervisors subject to the limitations set forth in the Act.

 

            NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby enacted and ordained as follows:

 

1.                  Each Supervisor of Kennett Township elected or appointed to assume office on or after this date shall receive compensation as a Supervisor in the annual amount of $ 2,500.

 

2.                  Such compensation shall be paid in quarterly installments.
