Bird Town
Kennett Township is proud to be a Bird Town! A Bird Town makes efforts to restore valuable ecosystem services to create a culture of conservation where everyone is a potential steward of nature in their backyard and beyond. This designation is a partnership between our Township and Audubon. If you are not familiar with Audubon, they have a century of conservation history in Pennsylvania and work to promote conservation and community-based actions to create a healthy, more sustainable environment for birds and people. Enjoy the links and resources here to help transform your yard into a bird sanctuary.

Brandywine Creek Greenway
CLICK HERE TO STAY INFORMED ABOUT The Brandywine Creek Greenway (BCG) is a regional planning initiative of the Brandywine Conservancy and twenty-five municipalities and is made possible with generous support from the William Penn Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Chester County. The Brandywine Creek runs through a highly desirable area of Chester County, Pennsylvania, where development pressures threaten the very landscapes that attract those who go there to live and work. Development often cannot be avoided. Municipalities, however, can choose to make resource protection, land preservation, recreation and alternative transportation the top priorities that shape their communities.

Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway
The Pennsylvania Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway effort was initiated in 2002 by a diverse group of community leaders, stakeholders, and byway enthusiasts who recognized the richness of the resources, the uniqueness of the landscape, and the potential of the area to qualify for scenic byway designation. This grass roots volunteer effort evolved into a Steering Committee composed of representatives from seven municipalities spanning Chester and Delaware Counties: Pennsbury, Kennett, East Marlborough, Pocopson, Birmingham, East Bradford, and Chadds Ford Townships.
