Kennett Area Senior Center Hosts Community Event to Celebrate Reopening
Kennett Square, PA. To celebrate its reopening, the Kennett Area Senior Center (“KASC”) will host a multi-generational, community-wide event on Saturday, May 21st. KASC officially reopened on April 11, and their May 21st event extends an invitation to the entire community to come and see its beautiful, newly rejuvenated space while enjoying great entertainment and great food.
The open house celebration includes a piano concert by Wayne Carr, a Rock & Roll Revival by The Act Players, a visit from Ingrid the Therapy dog and balloon artistry for kids of all ages by Balloons by TBL. Mezzaluna Wood Fired Pizza, Michoacana and Sweet Cakes Supplies round out the food offerings for purchase. Guests will also have an opportunity to hear about exciting program news.
“We made lemonade out of lemons during the time when Covid closed our doors,” said Stephanie D’Amico, KASC’s Executive Director. “Through generous funding provided to the Center by a former KASC Board Member as well as by the Longwood Foundation, we were able to improve and refresh our program spaces and kitchen.”
The event runs from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Overflow parking is available across the street at the Red Clay Room.
“Our goal is to throw the doors wide open on May 21st and let the community know we are here and ready to serve them,” said Ms. D’Amico.
Founded in 1971, the Kennett Area Senior Center is a non-profit organization serving residents of Southern Chester County. The Center provides programs and services to help residents stay active, healthy, and involved, assisting them to remain independent.
The Kennett Area Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. For more information, call 610-444-4819 or visit www.kennettseniorcenter.org.
