Good evening Kennett Township Residents and Business Owners,
At this evening’s Board of Supervisors meeting I was planning to give an update on the ongoing prosecution of former Township Manager, Lisa Moore, being conducted by the Chester County District Attorney’s office. Out of an abundance of caution, however, we have canceled tonight's meeting.
Moore is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Bortner at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 4th in the Chester County Courthouse in Court Room 6. According to the court docket, Moore is scheduled to enter a guilty plea. The Board of Supervisors has been informed by the District Attorney’s office that the case will likely proceed to sentencing on that day as well.
As we learn more, we will continue to keep the community updated. It is important to remember that the timing, details, and judicial process are not at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors and are subject to change any anytime.
As I am sure you are aware, our area is under a Tornado Watch through 10:00 p.m. tonight and watches have already been posted as close as Oxford. Governor Wolf also shared his concerns over the remnants of Ida in a press release this afternoon that can be found on our website. Please stay home tonight, heed any shelter in place warnings as they come, and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Richard L. Leff
