Arrest Made in KT Shooting

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 17:06 hours, the Chester County Police Radio dispatched the Kennett Township Police Department to the 200 block of Stewarts Lane for a disturbance involving a shooting.
 
Upon arrival, police located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The patient was treated by police and EMS at the scene and transported to Christiana Hospital. The patient is currently listed in stable condition.
 
The suspect, Shamar McCain, 24 years of age, fled the scene and was taken into custody in Oxford Borough without incident. The firearm was retrieved by Detectives, and this appeared to be an isolated incident related to a domestic disturbance.
 
McCain was charged with Aggravated Assault and related charges. McCain was transported to the Chester County Prison where he is currently being held awaiting arraignment.
 
The Kennett Township Police Department was assisted by the Kennett Square Borough Police Department, The Pennsylvania State Police at Avondale and Embreeville Barracks, Oxford Borough Police Department, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, the Chester County Detectives and Longwood Fire Company and EMS.
