Board of Supervisor Meeting

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will hold an In Person meeting tonight, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room. Click Here to access the agenda. There will be a presentation on Planning Kennett Connections. Comments and feedback are now being accepted for the project through the link above. There will be two other Public Meetings on the Draft Final Report on May 1st at East Marlborough Township and June 7th at Kennett Borough. All comments/feedback should be submitted prior to June 16th.

Spar Hill Clean Up Day

Help us celebrate Earth Day by preparing the former farmstead for the opening ceremony and the summer season on Saturday, April 22nd from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.

Kennett Library's Earth Day Plant Swap

Bring a plant, take a plant! Kennett Library's plant swap will take place Saturday, April 22nd at Pavilion One in Anson B Nixon Park from 10:00AM - 2:00PM. Pavilion One is located across from the Stage and next to the playground.

Tree Clearing by PennDOT

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced on Monday April 17th that tree clearing operations will begin next week on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) under a $10.4 million project to widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway from the Kennett Oxford Bypass to Greenwood Road in Kennett and East Marlborough townships.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
• Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Schoolhouse Road and Greenwood Road.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

No Mow May

May is a critical time for hungry, newly emerged native bees. Floral resources may be hard to find, especially in urban and suburban landscapes. By allowing your grass to grow longer, and letting flowers bloom, your lawn can provide nectar and pollen to help your bee neighbors thrive.

If you would like to participate in No Mow May, please contact the Township at Kennett.Twp@kennett.pa.us to let us know you will be letting you lawn grow for the month of May. (You will need to resume your lawn mowing after May 31st)

Introducing Hydra the Hydradig

Kennett Township rented a hydradig for one month to complete some work in the Township! This will be helpful with storm water projects, trench digging, improving sight lines, and other work. 
Hydra has recently been out and about in Kennett Township improving sight distance at the corner of Hannum and Rosedale as well as Hillendale and Raven. Check out Facebook for some cool photos and feel free to wave!
