Board of Supervisors - 2024 Budget Recap Presentation  

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room. Tonight, there will be a 2024 budget recap presentation.  You can review the 2024 Budget Slides here.   The Board is slated to preliminary adopt and vote to advertise the 2024 Budgets. A .5 mill tax increase is proposed to provide funding to the Kennett Fire and EMS Regional Commission for apparatus replacement operations. The Zoom link for tonight's meeting  can be found on the agenda which can be accessed on the website.    

Tonight, the Board of Supervisors will hear a final presentation on the 2024 Police Department budget from the Township Manager. At the last Board meeting the Board and public heard a thorough presentation from the Chief of Police on the state of the Department, policing needs of Kennett Township, and a recommendation for the further development of the Department. Tonight’s presentation will be focused on the areas of study that need to be explored in 2024 to determine the future of policing in Kennett Township. The police department budget for 2024 does not propose to add any additional Police Officers. This recommendation and plan is based on feedback from the public and Board of Supervisors at the October 18th public meeting. 

Historical Commission 

The Kennett Township Historical Commission will host a hybrid meeting on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room.  The link can be found on the agenda which can be accessed on the website.  

Sanderson Museum Event - November 5th 

This event will feature large scale projection installations of photographs and artwork related to the life of Christian C. Sanderson. These installations are part of an on-going initiative by artists Michael Lynch and Matt Nelson entitled Projected in Place – a historical research and conceptual art project that superimposes photographs and paintings to life-scale.  To learn more about the event and to purchase tickets, CLICK HERE.  

Trails & Sidewalks Committee - CANCELLED

The Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Committee has Cancelled their meeting on Tuesday, November 7th due to the Public Meeting Room being utilized for the Election.  They are scheduled to meet next month on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 1:00PM.  

Administrative Offices - CLOSED 

The Kennett Township Administrative Offices will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 7th due to Election Day being held at the building.  We will open on Wednesday, November 8th at 8:00AM.  The office will also be CLOSED on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans Day.  We will open on Monday, November 13th at 8:00AM.  

Yard Waste Now Open 

The Yard Waste Area is now Open for Kennett Township Residents.  Please be mindful of the materials you drop off and the piles you place them in.  Thank you for your cooperation & patience.  

Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission 

The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission will host it's monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 14th at the Pennsbury Township Building at 5:00PM.  The agenda can be found on the website once available.
