Township Offices: Summer Friday's By Appointment Only

Beginning Friday, July 12th, Kennett Township offices will be open by appointment only on Friday's through the end of the summer. Please call the office at 610-388-1300 if you wish to schedule an appointment. Our regular walk in hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM will remain in effect Monday-Thursday.

Rescheduled- Planning Commission Meeting

The Kennett Township Planning Commission meeting regularly scheduled for July 9th has been rescheduled to July 16th at 7:00PM. The agenda will be posted no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting. Click Here for further information regarding the schedule change.

Yard Waste Drop-Off

The yard waste area at the Township’s Public Works garage will be closing for several weeks starting on or about July 15th for grinding and disposal of the existing pile.

More specific dates will be provided as we get closer to the actual dates.

During the closure residents will not be able to utilize the yard waste drop of area, but the recycling bins will remain accessible.

National Night Out- Police

Your KTPD and Kennett Square Police Department are teaming up again to co-host this year's National Night Out Tuesday, August 6th from 6:00pm-8:00pm! You won't want to miss this event, which will be held at the Borough's new municipal building's parking lot: 600 S. Broad Street. Stay tuned for more details!

Route 41 Corridor Study Presentation

There is a very small section of Route 41 that is in Kennett Township. Any resident who may be interested in attending; the presentation will be held at the New Garden Township Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, July 15th at 7:00PM.

Kaolin Road Closing

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that beginning Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 26th, Kaolin Road will be closed 24/7 between Chandler Mill Road and Ewart Road in Kennett Township for stormwater replacement. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Ewart Road and Chandler Mill Road.  Local access will be maintained.  
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this outlined area due to potential back ups. 

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY. Proof of residency may be required. The Recycling Drop Off Center on Bayard Road takes plastic containers No's 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7. All recycling is now commingled or "Single Stream," which means that all recycling, with the exception of shredded paper, can be collected in a single collection box. Aluminum, Metal Food Containers, Glass, Plastic Bottles, and Paper Products can be recycled at the Kennett Township Recycling Center.

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.
