E-News Edition - Week of November 25, 2024

The 2025 budget has been advertised and you can find that HERE. The Board of Supervisors will vote on the 2025 budget at their December 4, 2024 meeting.  There are numerous upcoming meetings scheduled for December.  Be sure to check the Township Calendar.  

Kennett Township is collecting non-perishables for KACS! Bins are located in the Township Offices lobby and can be brought to any Township meeting.  We are trying to fill a KTPD Cruiser!

Kennett Township Environmental Advisory Council Meeting 

The Kennett Township EAC will host a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room.  Click Here to access the agenda.  The Zoom link can be found on the agenda.  

Kennett Township Administrative Offices - Closed 

The Kennett Township Administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  The offices will re-open on Monday, December 2nd at 8:00am.

Kennett Township Planning Commission Membership 

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Planning Commission.  The Township intends to hold interviews with interested volunteers with a panel.  Anyone interested is asked to fill out a Volunteer Form which can be accessed here and send a resume and letter of intent to kennett.twp@kennett.pa.us.  

Chester County Burn Ban Extended & Drought Watch 

The Chester County Commissioners have extended the 30-day ban on open burning for all residents and businesses in Chester County until Thursday, December 26, 2024. Additional details can be found here.  

Pennsylvania’s Drought Task Force has announced that, as of November 1st, Chester County is under a Drought Watch. For more details on the drought declaration, visit PADEP’s Drought Information page.

Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

With the holidays upon, household waste increases about 25% this time of year.  Click Here to check out some ideas on how you can "Watch Your Waste- Holiday Edition". 

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.  

NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY 

Experience the Magic in Kennett Square: Holiday Light Parade

Enjoy floats and vehicles festooned with lights, dancers, holiday tunes, Christmas tree lighting and of course Santa & Mrs. Claus.  The Kennett Square Holiday Light Parade will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 7:00pm.  Visit the Kennett Collaborative website for additional details on parking and when road closures will begin.   

Kennett Square Holiday Village Market 

Enjoy the festive season in Kennett starting on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday December 8th from 11pm-5pm at the Creamery.  Additional details can be found on the Kennett Collaborative website.  

Online Safety Seminar

Below you will find a graphic that the Chester County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the District Attorney and the Department of Emergency Services is holding a "Think Before You Post: Protecting Your Digital Footprint," and information seminar designed for middle and high school students as well as their parents.  The seminar is on Friday, December 13th at 10:00AM in Courtroom #1 of the Chester County Justice Center.
