Happy Tuesday! We're delighted to bring you the latest updates, news and happenings around our community.  From local events to important announcements, this week's newsletter is your guide to staying connected and informed about what's going on in Kennett Township.

Kennett Township is collecting non-perishables for KACS! Bins are located in the Township Offices lobby and can be brought to any Township meeting.  We are trying to fill a KTPD Cruiser!

Planning Commission Membership

Kennett Township Planning Commission Membership 

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Planning Commission.  The Township intends to hold interviews with interested volunteers with a panel.  Anyone interested is asked to fill out a Volunteer Form which can be accessed here and send a resume and letter of intent to kennett.twp@kennett.pa.us.  

Kennett Township Planning Commission Meeting: CANCELLED

The Kennett Township Planning Commission Meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2024 has been cancelled.  Meetings will resume in January 2025.  

Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission Meeting

The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission's monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 5:00pm at the E. Marlborough Township building.  The agenda can be found here.  

Chester County Burn Ban Extended & Drought Watch 

The Chester County Commissioners have extended the 30-day ban on open burning for all residents and businesses in Chester County until Thursday, December 26, 2024. Additional details can be found here.  

Pennsylvania’s Drought Task Force has announced that, as of November 1st, Chester County is under a Drought Watch. For more details on the drought declaration, visit PADEP’s Drought Information page.

Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

With the holidays upon, household waste increases about 25% this time of year.  Click Here to check out some ideas on how you can "Watch Your Waste- Holiday Edition". 

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.  

NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY 

Calling all High School Juniors & Seniors: Scholarship Application

Four $1,500 scholarships are available to high school juniors and seniors: two Local Government Achievement  scholarships and two Academic Achievement scholarships. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2025.  Additional information can be found on the PSATS website. 

Kennett Square Holiday Village Market 

Enjoy the festive season in Kennett starting Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th from 11am to 5pm at the Creamery.  Additional details can be found on the Kennett Collaborative website.

Kennett Area Community Services 

KACS is looking for an Operations Assistant.  You can find additional information on the position Here.
