BOS Recap

January 15th Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors met on January 15th at 7pm. The Board conducted routine business and also voted to approve a trail easement for connections to Anson B. Nixon park, accepted the Route 41 planning study, and appointed a new member and alternate member to the Planning Commission. In addition, the Township Manager and Department Heads gave their regular monthly reports and highlighted accomplishments from 2024.

The next meeting of the Board of Supervisors is Wednesday, February 5th at 7pm.


Kennett Township Environmental Advisory Council Meeting

The Kennett Township EAC will hold a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, January 28th at 7:00 pm in the Public Meeting Room.  The zoom link can be accessed on the agenda once it becomes available.


Kennett Township Building Code Appeals Board

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Building Code Appeals Board.  The Township intends to hold interviews with interested volunteers with a panel.  Anyone interested is asked to fill out a Volunteer Form which can be accessed here and send an optional resume to kennett.twp@kennett.pa.us.

You're Invited: Homes with History

Presented by Kennett Township and the Kennett Township Historical Commission.  If you own or live in an older home in Kennett Township and would like to learn its history, we have a program for you! 

Please join us on Saturday February 8th, to hear Jeffery Marshall's (author, preservationist and historian) presentation and discussion aimed at empowering homeowners to begin researching their own homes' unique histories!

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.  Seating is limited-please RSVP to Fredda Pennock at Pennockfredda@yahoo.com



Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.

Winter Park at the Creamery

The Glice-Skating Rink will be open to the general public until February 16th. Winter hours for public skating: Saturdays 12:30-6:00 & Sundays 12:30-4:00. To reserve your tickets click here!

Free Virtual Workshop on Trauma Set for January 23

On Thursday January 23rd, at 7:00 pm., the Chester County ACEs Coalition will host Trauma 101, a free virtual training for adults covering the impact of trauma on the body and brain, prevention and recovery. The ACEs Coalition is Chester County Health Department program supported by the County's Department of Children Youth and Families. Registration required. click here to register. 

BEYOND THE BALLOT: Learn how to Run for Office in Chester County

Beyond the Ballot is a new informational program that Chester County Voter Services will be hosting on February 6th, 2025. They will be holding two sessions: 2pm and 6pm. Each session will last approximately 2 hours and cover topics such as responsibilities of elected officials, filing petitions and campaign finance. Click Here to sign up.  Additional Information is below.   

Beyond the Ballot

Calling all High School Juniors & Seniors: Scholarship Application 

Four $1,500 scholarships are available to high school juniors and seniors: two Local Government Achievement scholarships and two Academic Achievement scholarships. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2025.  Additional information can be found on the PSATS website.
