Kennett Township Hopes to see you Monday, May 26th at The Kennett Memorial Day Parade!

Celebrating our freedoms as a community in Kennett Square by honoring those who gave their lives in service with the United States Armed Forces. For more information about this event click here.

Kennett Township Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors (BOS) will hold a hybrid meeting Wednesday, May 21st at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Join us for important discussions on initiatives affecting our community. Topics to be discussed include: Consideration of Ordinances 311: Adopting Regulations for Bamboo, considering advertisement of Ordinance 312: Municipal Claims for Delinquent Accounts, Resolution 2025-8 Authorizing the execution of PennDOT agreement for Tourist Oriented Directional Signing, will also be discussed. In addition, former Kennett Township Manager, Eden Ratliff will be accepting a Kennett Township Medal of Merit. The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kennett Township Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday May 29, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennett Township Public Meeting Room to hear the following:

ZHB 534: THE APPLICATION OF JOHN & KIM SAGRATI, for proposed improvements to the property located at 116 Pleasant Bank Lane; being UPI No. 62-6-10.6D, zoned R-R (Rural Residential), consisting of 3.1 acres. The Applicant proposes a 768 square foot detached garage in the front yard. The Applicant requests a special exception as required by Kennett Township Zoning Code Section 240-1901.A.2f to exceed the maximum allowable size and a variance from Section 240-1901.A.2b to construct the proposed structure in the front yard.

RECYCLING REMINDER:

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.

Water/Roots: Shared Water Project, Environmental Lecture Series

WATER/ROOTS is Kennett Library’s Environmental Lecture Series theme for 2025. We will investigate aspects of water in our daily lives and beyond. Invited speakers will share innovative research, creative educational programs, solutions to establish healthy watersheds, as well as explore our deeper relationship with water.

Join us on May 20th at 7 pm in the Auditorium for Shared Water Project, with Dr. Nanette Marcum-Dietrich. Learn more about the shared water project.  nanette.marcum-dietrich@millersville.edu

Through classroom-tested curriculum, hands-on science kits, and professional development, the Shared Waters team assists administrators and teachers in seamlessly embedding standards-aligned environmental literacy and sustainability education into the district and school curriculum.



Sip & Learn Stormwater Event 5/22/25

Sip & Learn Stormwater: BRC & Workhorse Brewery

Brandywine Red Clay Alliance and Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards are partnering on an exciting endeavor to certify properties as watershed friendly. Participants will learn how they can make a difference for the watershed, see stormwater measures in action at the Myrick Center, enjoy samples of Workhorse Brewery's limited-edition Speckled Stream IPA, and come away with either a free native tree or shrub to plant on their own property.  Advance registration is required by Wednesday May 21.

There will be a native plant giveaway and Tasting of Workhorse Brewery's new Speckled Stream IPA, which benefits BRC! More Information on the event can be found here.



Campaign Sign Recycling Event

The Chester County Planning Commission, Chester County Facilities, and Keep Chester County Beautiful will be hosting a campaign sign collection event running from May 20 through May 30, 2025, with four drop off points: the Government Services Center, Oaklands Corporate Center, SECCRA Community Landfill and Springton Manor Farm. 

 



Clover Market Kennett Square 6/1/25

The Kennett Square Markets will feature 100 carefully curated vendors with a wide variety of handmade and vintage goods along with food trucks, live music, beer and wine, free kids' crafts, and many additional shopping and dining options in town. The Market is produced in partnership with Kennett Collaborative and the Borough.

The Market vendors will be set up in the parking lot at 600 S. Broad Street, right across from Kennett High School. The entire lot will be closed for the Market. The Market is just a very short walk drive from the downtown shopping and restaurant district and close to additional dining options and activities on Birch Street.
