Kennett Fire & EMS Commission (KFERC) The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, July 8th at 5:00pm at Kennett Township in the Public Meeting Room. Topics to be discussed include: Approval of Payments, Reports from the Administrator, Fire Chief and Fire Companies. The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.
Planning Commission The Planning Commission (PC) will hold a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:00pm at Kennett Township in the Public Meeting Room. Topics to be discussed include: Subdivision and Land Development updates. The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.

ZHB CASE# 536 JULY 30TH AT 7:00PMNOTICE is hereby given that the Kennett Township Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday July 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennett Township Public Meeting Room to hear the following: ZHB 536: THE APPLICATION OF Deerfield Mowing and Property Maintenance INC, for proposed improvements to the property located at 428 McFarlan Road; being UPI No. 62-4-133, zoned SA (Special Agriculture), consisting of 45 acres. The Applicant is seeking variance relief from Section 240-1102 D. requiring a 50-foot side yard setback to be able to house an agricultural structure with a 16-foot side yard setback. The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors met on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Township Manager, Alison Dobbins, noted that the Kennett Township flag was at half-staff to honor the passing of a former Kennett Township Supervisor, James Clayton Henderson, who passed away on June 2, 2025. The Board voted to ratify the June 16th bill voucher and approve the July 2nd bill voucher. They also adopted Resolution 2025-11: Right-to-Know Law Policy which documents our current processes and officially names as alternate Right to Know Officer. Resolution 2025-12: Amending Fee Schedule Resolution 2025-3 to modify Rental Registration Fees was also adopted unanimously. The next meeting of the Board of Supervisors will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 7pm.

We expect the grinding and disposal of the existing pile to take approximately 4 weeks to complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding. MUSEUM EXPLORERS: FAMILY PROGRAMExplore the Brandywine Museum of Art this summer through weekly adventures for families. Each Thursday morning from July 10 through July 31, discover new treasures in art and nature on scavenger hunts through the galleries. Also enjoy live demonstrations by local artists and creative art projects to make and take home. The first event of the summer is this Thursday, July 10 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.. BRANDYWINE SUMMER CONCERT SERIESDon't miss out on this FREE Summer Music Series. Held on Thursday evenings July through August. Its free music for the whole family, with a different food truck at each two-hour performance. Gates open at 6 pm and the concert begins at 7:00 pm. Bring your own chair, blanket and cooler! The first concert is this Thursday, July 10th. PINTS ON THE PRESERVECome out this Saturday, July 12th to enjoy Pints on the Preserve. ChesLen Preserve's popular pop-up beer garden happens on select Saturdays from May through November. YOUTH WORKSHOPS AT LONGWOODLongwood Gardens offers Youth Workshops the second Saturday of each month. The next workshop is this Saturday July 12th. Their Workshops help students (ages 10-16) explore the beauty of the natural word and hidden interests-while learning alongside expert instructors. SPY DAY: A FAMILY EVENTSpy Day at the Chester County History Center will give children the chance to learn to read and write in cipher and code, find hidden messages in everyday objects, explore the science of invisible ink, and develop their own secret identity. They'll also learn about real spies who operated in the area during the 18th century. Space will be limited to provide the best atmosphere for our participants.
