BOS Meeting Cancelled 7/16/25

The July 16, 2025 meeting of the Kennett Township Board of Supervisors has been cancelled. Department Head reports for June 2025 will be posted at: https://kennett.pa.us/388/Public-Meeting-Documents.  Questions or concerns can be sent to the Township via questions@kennett.pa.us or 610-388-1300. The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 7pm.

Recycling Reminder

LOCATION: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage at 557 Bayard Road.

HOURS: The Recycling Center is open Dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sundays from 10am to Dusk.

Yard Waste Debris Center will be closed starting 7/2

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Yard Waste Debris Center closed beginning Wednesday, July 2nd for maintenance. We expect the grinding and disposal of the existing pile to take approximately 4 weeks to complete.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Updates will be posted here and in the weekly e-news. Brandywine Flood Study 2025

BRANDYWINE CONSERVANCY: BRANDYWINE FLOOD STUDY 2025

Following an extensive study period, with a series of public outreach meetings and community engagement efforts, the final report of the Brandywine Flood Study is now available. More information and the complete Brandywine Flood Study can be found HERE.



Kennett Trails Alliance: Bike Park

KENNETT TRAILS ALLIANCE: KENNETT BIKE PARK 

Looking for something fun to do this summer?  Check out Kennett Bike Park.  The park is a free and welcoming space where riders of all ages and backgrounds can develop biking skills, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with the community. The Bike Park features a woodland trail system and a bike skills park.  The trails and park include a variety of rollers, berms, and turns built into a sustainable dirt circuit.  The park is located at 650 W South St, Kennett Square, PA 19348.More information on the Bike Park can be found HERE.

SOUNDS OF SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

The Kennett Area Park Authority is pleased to present the 2025 Sounds of Summer FREE Concert Series! Be sure to save the dates and join us for a good time in Anson B. Nixon Park! Performances will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30pm beginning June 11th and running through August 6th. They have a great line-up this year! Food & beverage vendors will open for business beginning at 6pm each week. Sponsorships are available. Donations to support daily operations in Anson B. Nixon Park are encouraged and appreciated. Third Thursdays KSQ

THIRD THURSDAYS ON STATE STREET

Gather your crew and make plans to hit up State Street for outdoor dining, live music, shopping and strolling, pop-up vendors, and family-friendly fun. July 17th - 5:30 PM start.  FREE PARKING will be available in the Parking Garage.  Street closures begin at 5pm (parking restrictions begin at 4pm) and run through 10 pm. Juneteenth is rescheduled and reignited. Come celebrate Saturday, July 19th 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

We’re coming back stronger than ever, and we’ve got a new indoor location to welcome you! DOUGHNUT STORY TIME IS BACK!

Back by popular demand: Storytime at Wanderlust Donut Shop.  The first event was a huge success and because Wanderlust is so sweet they offered to host another pop up. The event will be held at 119 W. State Street, Kennett Square PA; this Friday July 18th, at 10 am. Because space is limited, please register HERE.



Artisan Market at Winterthur

ARTISAN MARKET AT WINTERTHUR

Spend a summer day—or the whole weekend—exploring Winterthur while shopping for artisan-made crafts and gifts.  Artisan Market reflects the mission of Winterthur by showcasing local artisans through a variety of handmade crafts relating to art, textiles, ceramics, glass, woodworking, antiques, and gardening. Each of these categories connects to Winterthur’s past, and we invite you to share a bit of your own history with us during this special weekend.

Emergent Abundance: farming collective

EMERGENT ABUNDANCE OPEN GARDEN DAYS

Interested in volunteering with Emergent Abundance Farming Collective? Need to get reoriented around the garden? Come along to one of the Open Garden Days, happening every 3rd Sunday from May to October at the farm.  The next Open Garden Day is this Sunday, July 20th from 10am-11:00am at 434 Burnt Mill Road Chadds Ford, PA. Spy Day

SPY DAY: A FAMILY EVENT

Spy Day at the Chester County History Center will give children the chance to learn to read and write in cipher and code, find hidden messages in everyday objects, explore the science of invisible ink, and develop their own secret identity. They'll also learn about real spies who operated in the area during the 18th century.  Space will be limited to provide the best atmosphere for our participants. 

The event takes place this Saturday July 19, 2025 11:00AM-2:30 PM at the Chester County History Center. For information click HERE.



KURC Heritage Bus Tour

KURC HERITAGE BUS TOUR

Come out this Sunday, July 20 1:00-3:15.  The event starts at the Kennett Heritage Center. From there you will board a small air-conditioned bus and visit documented Underground Railroad sites, historic homes and Quaker Meetinghouses while learning about local abolitionists and anti-slavery activity in the Kennett Square area. The tour also presents the contributions of local African Americans and their faith communities in the quest for freedom from slavery.  For more information can be found HERE.
