HISTORICAL COMMISSIONThe Historical Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Items on the agenda include: Announcements and Township Updates, Recruitment of new members, America 250 Plans, The Pines Report Discussion, Old Kennett Friends Meeting: Hessian burial investigation, Points of Light-UGRR Tour, and Committee Reports. Volunteer Opportunity:Kennett Township is seeking one (1) volunteer to serve as a regular member of the Historical Commission. ZONING HEARING BOARDNOTICE is hereby given that the Kennett Township Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday April 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennett Township Public Meeting Room to hear the following applications: Continuation of ZHB 543: 100-400 Exelon Way (UPI Nos. 62-4-15.2A, 62-4-15.2B, 62-4-15.2C and 62-4-15.2D); zoned C Commercial. Variance relief from Section 240-2003 to reduce both the required parking space size and number of spaces. ZHB 545: 122 Round Hill Road (UPI No. 62-6-16.35); zoned RR Rural Residential. COFFEE & CONVERSATIONKennett Township Municipal Facility Expansion Information Session April 25, 2026 - 10:00 AMKennett Township Public Meeting RoomKennett Township invites residents to a Coffee and Conversation information session on Saturday, April 25th at 10 AM. This session will offer residents the opportunity to interact with Kennett Township police officers and learn more about the design and layout of the interior of the proposed police building. We will begin with casual conversation at 10 AM. A formal presentation at 10:30 AM will outline police operations, accreditation standards, and the professional process used to develop the interior layout and space needs of the proposed police facility. The intent of this meeting is to share how the facility design was developed. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided. Note to attendees: This session will not serve as a forum to debate policing practices or revisit previously established space needs.

Donoghue II, historian and author, facilitated by author Mark Bowden. The American Revolution was complex and controversial. We will open our series exploring the dilemma Philadelphia Quaker leaders faced in upholding their commitment to pacifism. Donoghue’s book, Prisoners of Congress, Quakers in Exile, 1777-1778, tells the previously untold story of 17 prominent Quakers who were exiled to Virginia to silence their opposition to independence. Key highlights include: 595 calls for service handled during the month 270 total incidents recorded, including both criminal and non-criminal activity 3 criminal incidents reported (criminal mischief, identity theft, ordinance violation) 94 traffic stops conducted (44 citations, 49 warnings) Ongoing identity theft investigation and vandalism case involving significant property damage Community outreach included participation in Highway Safety Law Awareness Week and a Child Passenger Safety Check event assisting local families
