Kennett Township Pilot Land Stewardship Program for Barkingfield Park Public Open House
The Brandywine Conservancy is working with Kennett Township on the Pilot Community Based Land Stewardship Program for the Barkingfield Park. Barkingfield Park and adjoining properties provide an excellent locale for an initial pilot project to demonstrate and document the concepts and process of an overall Township Plan. The Barkingfield Stewardship Plan will build upon the Concept Plan prepared by Thomas Comitta Associates. The Concept Plan delivers a vision of what the park will become in the future. The Stewardship Plan will provide guidance for how to establish/restore/enhance the envisioned natural areas over time. The scope of this project will include the Township municipal services area to the north. Owners of contiguous parcels will be invited to include their lands in the Stewardship Plan at no additional cost. Public Open House Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 5:00-7:00pm Kennett Township Municipal Building
The community is invited to attend a public open house in Kennett Township on Wednesday, June 7th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Brandywine Conservancy staff will provide a brief presentation to introduce the Pilot Land Stewardship Program for the Barkingfield Park planning initiative and get community involvement as follows:
• Review the site context with reference to comprehensive plan and Landscapes2 • Review the site inventory and analysis maps • Review the Site Master Plan • Gather public comments regarding stewardship goals • All landowners in the township will have an opportunity to learn about regional influences on land stewardship planning.
We hope you can join us in creating a Stewardship Plan for the Barkingfield Park for all to enjoy.
