Bike Kennett

Bike Kennett!

Bike Kennett, a volunteer group that encourages riding bicycles and advocates for trails, sidewalks, and bike lanes is hosting several events in the coming weeks.  On Saturday, April 14, Bike Kennett is hosting a beginner level road ride for riders of all ages and fitness levels.  During this 5 mile ride down Chandler Mill road and back, riders will learn the basic skills needed so that they can be safe while riding a bicycle on the road. Anyone who wants to become more confident on the road is encouraged to attend (however, no training wheels or balance bikes are allowed).  The ride takes place on the second Saturday of every month and begins at Pennock Park in Kennett Square. Helmets are required.

On Sunday, April 15, Bike Kennett will be participating in the Spring Clean-Up hosted by Kennett Township and the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance.  Anyone wanted to join the Bike Kennett volunteers are encouraged to meet at Pennock Park on Saturday at 8am and will receive a free Bike Kennett t-shirt and free Philter coffee!

On Saturday, April 21, Bike Kennett volunteers will be putting on a Bike Rodeo at the YMCA Healthy Kids Day event held on Broad Street in Kennett Square.  All kids are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets to participate in this bicycle safety clinic.  This is a free event from 11-2pm. Please email bikekennett@gmail.com with any questions.
